International Transit Protection

You know when you buy a car from a dealership, they wont let you drive off the forecourt without insurance?

Well we feel the same way when you ship your treasured belongings overseas.

It’s not often but sometimes accidents can happen so you need to at least have the minimum insurance just in case.

We suggest you take out our normal transit protection which covers you against most things and you can get your shipping costs back but if nothing else we do require you to at least have a minimum of $5,000 total loss protection which costs $100.

If you have taken out a protection policy elsewhere then please send your coordinator a copy otherwise we will add at least the minimum coverage cost to your invoice.

The chances of anything bad happening to your items are slim, but for the small cost of an transit protection policy, it’s certainly worth the peace of mind

Our transit protection option covers total loss plus loss or damage to individual items if caused by external forces like by a fork lift or shipping container crane, a truck accident or storm related issues. It will not cover items that are not packed correctly. Policy covers against individual boxes being lost or if there is outside damage to a box that has caused damage to the items. Only available on to door to door or curbside shipments. We cannot offer coverage on shipping to port / terminal shipments.

The transit protection policy costs 2.5% of the values you put on your items. So for example if your transit protection item values came to a total of $5000, the cost to you would be $5000 x 2.5% = $125. The minimum transit protection premium/ charge is $100. $250 deductible.
