Our transit protection option covers total loss plus loss or damage to individual items if caused by external forces like by a forklift or shipping container crane, a truck accident or storm related issues. It will not cover items that are not packed correctly so please make sure everything is well wrapped. The policy also covers against individual boxes being lost or if there is outside damage to a box that has caused damage to the items, for example if a forklift blade accidently went through your box and broke your TV / Computer screen or X Box or grannies china and crystal glassware.
The transit protection policy costs 2.59% of the value you put on your items. So, for example if your transit protection item values came to a total of $5000, the cost to you would be $5000 x 2.59% = $129.50. The minimum transit protection premium/ charge is $100. The policy has a $250 deductible.

We suggest you take out our normal transit protection which covers you against most things and you can get your shipping costs back but if nothing else we do require you to at least have a minimum of $5,000 total loss protection which costs $100.
If you have taken out a protection policy elsewhere then please send your coordinator a copy otherwise we will add at least the minimum coverage cost to your invoice.
