Sir Michael Caine is associated with this catch phrase but it was actually Peter Sellers doing an impersonation of him that started it all.

Alcohol and tobacco products……

Don’t ship it! Most overseas customs will charge you duties and taxes on these items to the extent that it’s normally cheaper to buy them in a local store at the destination. There is also more risk of a customs inspection and delays due to declaring these items.

Some countries have a duty free allowance that you can take with you on the plane but not when shipping them with your household goods.
