Could Weed in UK be a big hit?

Could Weed in UK be a big hit? Would more people move to England?

dollar

I read the other day that the UK is considering the legal use of Marijuana. Well it’s going to happen eventually isn’t it? And you’re not telling me all the fat cats in Government around the western world aren’t salivating at the possibility that a new tax stream could flood their coffers?
My first thought is, well Uruguay and The Netherlands as the first countries to legalize it seem to be doing ok! Just look at their world cup results. Denver and Seattle played this year in the Super Bowl final and both States have legalized Marijuana …..Coincidence?
Drug pressure groups have recently welcomed a call to legalize cannabis by former Conservative Party deputy leader Peter Lilley.
He said “Nothing could more vividly dramatize reaffirmation of our belief in freedom and personal responsibility than to move clearly in favor of liberalizing the law on cannabis.” (Well actually he said that in English with a lot more S’s and a lot less Z’s but you get the drift)
As Uruguay became the first country in the world to make the production, sale and possession of cannabis legal – the debate around the regulation of the drug in the UK has been thrown back into the news.
Diego Canepa, the president of the Uruguay’s National Drug Board, said: “A regulated market that is visible has greater oversight than prohibition.” I presume the same could be said for the Alcohol ban in the USA between 1920 and 1933…..

Apparently Uruguayans who register on a national database can now buy cannabis from a pharmacy, and adults are allowed to grow up to eight marijuana plants each. Everything is monitored by a government database and all forms of advertising, promotion and sponsorship are banned.
Many British public figures, including some politicians, are in agreement that 50 years later, the war on drugs has failed – so has the time come for Britain to take the step from prohibition to legalization? May be!
I presume that in any country where marijuana is legalized it would massively reduce the amount of people burdened with a criminal record, free up the courts as well as give police more time to pursue more serious crime.
In the UK, legalizing and taxing cannabis could help the Government reduce the deficit by as much as £1.25bn – without necessarily causing significant damage to public health, a study has claimed. (Who does these “studies” by the way, a bunch of college students?)
So what’s the problem Dudes? 

I guess time will tell but I think anyone moving to the UK could, in the not too distant future be unpacking their boxes in a very chilled relaxing happy manner! Well that happens usually with UPakWeShip customers relocating anyway but you get my drift again!
