To remind everyone thinking about moving to the UK that if you are wishing to bring your belongings into the UK (from outside the EU) you must have completed the TOR online application form for duty and tax free entry. Customs will then email you a unique reference number. The unique number will be required by us in order to customs clear your goods into the UK. The dedicated mailbox to email completed application forms is nch.tor@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk

We are hearing there is a delay of over 3 weeks for the online TOR process to customs. Therefore it is recommended that you complete the application for TOR as soon as possible as you will likely receive it in about one month’s time. Once approval is given, it is valid for 12 months of issue so it’s well worth applying early.

Always email the application form so there is a trail between you and Customs and if there is any additional information required an email reply will be sent to correspond as opposed to sending letters in the mail.
